Renewal Information

License Period
Prior to July 1, 2007, real estate salesperson and broker licenses were issued for a two year period. Starting July 1, 2007, real estate salesperson and broker licenses, initial and rewnewal, will be issued for a four year period after the initial two year license. However, twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education is still required every two years.

Education Requirements:

Twenty-Four (24) hours of continuing education is required every two years.

You must take one three hour class in each of the following categories:
  • Commissioner’s Standards (Comm. Std.)
  • Contract Law (C-Law)
  • Agency Law (A-Law)
  • Fair Housing (Fair Hse.)
  • Real Estate Legal Issues (R.E.L. Iss.)
  • Disclosure (Disc.)
Then you must complete two additional three hour classes in the General category or any of the required categories, as long as you do not repeat the same class. ReNewal Education Corporation presents its distance learning continuing education courses online.
